One-off American Art
Every piece of art on this website and in this gallery is original and one-of-one. We make, commission and sell modern western and American art with the mission of showcasing, perpetuating & reinvigorating American culture through art. Tay Harlan is an American painter and designer who focuses on modern western art and cowboy pop art. His mission is to carry the torch forward through the 21st century and spread the iconic nature of American cowboy culture and the great American west through imagery and artworks.
Any artwork in a collection is 100% original and is a one-of-one art piece. Each piece is usually prepared by hand in photoshop and illustrator to establish the core lines, key features and special effects like halftone, before it is transferred to canvas through a process of high-quality giclée archival printing. once the foundation is on canvas, acrylic paint and gloss is added to the surface to finish and refine the image and to create a textured feel.
There is no overlap between the 'Collections' section and 'Print' section. Both have a completely unique inventory. That means if you buy a Harlan Original artwork, you can rest assured you are the only one in the world with that painting -- there will be no other copies in circulation. This creates rarity and exclusivity for our original artwork. Prints are designed to give people an option to partake in the Americana art vibe, who don't want to pay for an original piece.
Each piece is truly an American creation. From the composition of the canvases and fine art paper, to the art and design that goes into it, is all Made in America.
Tay Harlan is an artist living in Dallas, TX, who was raised in rural North Carolina. As a young boy he was an avid drawer who would draw rugged cowboys out on the great plains. While he has experimented with many different styles, techniques and subjects over the years, he has settled on a unique modern western style that consists mainly of cowboy pop art. Not only are the images by themselves striking and captivating, but the meaning and culture behind them are an important mission for him. He wants to spread the imagination and imagery of America to people near and far, and keep that rugged American spirit alive.
